Little F Paper

Little F is a very sweet small scale flower print. The colour way Tutti, Italian for everything, reflects the cheerful mix of bright colours . The intrigue of this type of design is its ability to transcend time – a small spotted flower appearing at first to be from the 1950’s but which was in fact typical of the patterns painted or hand embroidered by Chinese women in the early 1700’s for the English China trade, hence the real origin of the name Chintz.

Each wallpaper has a matching linen, allowing you the option of striking a combination to evoke the English chintz interior look made famous in the late 1930s by decorating partnership Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler. Used individually, these patterned papers and linens can conversely bring a fresh, contemporary look to an interior.

Originating from a box of fragile linen chintz samples which Christopher acquired from an antiques dealer decades ago, each print has been reworked in either scale, colour, or both. The exceptionally fine detail in the original patterns has been lovingly reproduced using fantastically accurate digital printing, replacing the now-obsolete method of copper-plate printing which created the original fabric swatches.
